8. Basic Principle of the Laser Cutting Machine
The principle of laser cutting is to focus the laser beam into a very small spot, so that a very high power density is achieved at the focal point. At this time, the heat input by the light beam (converted from light energy) far exceeds the part that is reflected, conducted or diffused by the material. The material is quickly heated to the gasification temperature, and evaporation forms a hole. As the light beam and the material move linearly relative to each other, the hole forms a very narrow slit.
